The Ask:
As a decently new brand, the first ask was to create a “look” for launching in retail that would grab the demographic’s/consumers’ attention and communicate what Cutwater is — a premade cocktail in a can [for “outdoorsy” 30- & 40-somethings]. In the first set of designs, you’ll see the look they initially loved and signed off on.
The ask was further elaborated…to develop the strategy for on-premise –
golf courses, sports bars, independent bar (patios) venues. Develop ecomm strategy for retail channels, packaged liquor, grocery, c-stores, and independents.
As you can see, they ended up going back to their traditional look of navy with the occasional lifestyle shot with an emphasis on the cans and their medal/award. Life of a designer, eh? ;)
