7 Deadly Sins: Kaleo summer retreat

I recently added a whole slew of new brushes to my Photoshop arsenal and had a blast getting to use them on this piece! 

The only direction I was given for this project was the title...and I don't know about you, but the first thing that pops into my head when someone mentions the 7 deadly sins, is the movie "Seven" with Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Morgan Freeman, and Kevin Spacey. SO GOOD. I wanted to evoke that creepiness that the movie does, without ripping off their art, obviously. When I presented it to the client, his first words were "it's so dark and creepy...I'm scared just looking at it!" #nailedit

It was difficult coming up with just one, simple, universal object/feeling that evoked each one of these words/sins. But once I had them figured out, the project came to fruition quite quickly; I'm pretty pleased with it!
