Operation smile Student Programs website Redesign

Adobe XD, Photoshop, and Illustrator

A super fun project I did for Operation Smile’s Student Program. Their website needed a facelift to reflect their new branding. Not only did I design the layout, but I was also able to play around with dropdown animation, roll-overs, toggling/scrolling, accordion menu expansion, etc. I worked on the home page, an events page, and a step-by-step instructional page! Super happy with how it turned out. [Full brief below]

THE ASK

Project Overview:
Need a new layout for the Student Programs website as well as some internal pages. The new website will allow visitors on the site to easily find the information they are looking for with a simple and easy-to-use UX.

Target Market:
Students of all ages, from elementary school all the way up to college-age. We want them to be able to find out what student programs as well as other students are currently doing, upcoming projects, why they should raise awareness, and any information they feel they need. This is important so that it give the young brand advocates all the tools needed to work on any of their projects as well as still feeling connected to Operation Smile.

Creative Direction:
We want to keep it with the brand look & feel, which is clean and modern, but also uses more of the bold color palette from the brand room. The site needs to be easy to read, understand, and have a clear hierarchy of direction/importance for the viewer.

  • Visual ease of use

  • Using the bright, bold colors (blue more so than the others)…as well as clean visuals to keep it simple and easy to navigate in important

  • Gotham font family

Copy & Mandatories:
Operation Smile Student Programs logo, provided copy, brand colors, provided photos, dropdown menu examples, homepage mockup, plus 2 internal pages (of your choice) to expand upon.
